Last month, Senior Product Manager Kathryn Sanders hosted a webinar that highlighted significant enhancements made to the GovSpend platform during the first half of 2024. Below, we break down some of the key features discussed as well as other general search and functionality updates. Keep reading to learn how these changes improve the user experience and aim to help you efficiently win more government business.

 Saved Search Alert Customization

At the beginning of the year, GovSpend revamped our Saved Search Alerts. We improved the email formatting so customers can now see the number of new records that meet their criteria, grouped by record type and saved search. We also added frequency options for Saved Search Alerts so you can keep up to date with your saved searches without experiencing email overload. With these new options, you can receive notifications when and how you want them:

  • Flexible Alert Frequency: Users can now choose how frequently they receive email alerts – weekly, daily, or immediately.
  • Digest or Individual Emails: Alerts can be consolidated into one digest email or sent individually for each search, helping reduce email clutter.
  • Centralized Management: All alert management is now accessible from the Saved Searches page, simplifying the process.

AI Meeting Transcript Summaries

To enhance the Meeting Intelligence module, AI-generated summaries for meeting videos have been introduced. These summaries are tailored for government contractors, focusing on relevant discussions such as budget, vendor evaluations, and upcoming RFP opportunities. Highlights include:

  • Quick Context: Don’t spend hours listening to every meeting in your Meeting Intelligence search results! Summaries provide a quick overview of meeting content, helping users decide which meetings are most relevant and when to dive deeper.
  • Searchable Summaries: Summaries are searchable, allowing users to find relevant information more efficiently.

AI Purchase Order Categorization

We expanded our implementation of AI to categorize all purchase order line items with the industry-standard UNSPSC Code system (product/service categorization system). This enhancement in Spending streamlines the search process through:

  • Improved Search Efficiency: Filtering search results by specific product/service categories, such as Software or Office Supplies, reduces the need for multiple keyword combinations as well as the number of irrelevant results.
  • Hierarchical Filter: Identify relevant categories within the UNSPSC code system via a searchable hierarchy filter. View the full hierarchy classification for each line item in your search results and swiftly export what you need.

General Search & Functionality Updates

We continuously work to improve search features in GovSpend, allowing users to quickly and accurately find the most relevant results to help drive their business. Some enhancements we have made over the past few months include:

  • Spending “Issued Date” Filter: To focus on the most relevant data, the Issue Date filter in the spending module now defaults to the Last 60 Months. Users can modify the filter to apply a different date range to their search if desired.
  • Search Keywords with Special Characters: Keywords with special characters (+ – = & : / .) are now supported across all search modules.
  • Contact Search Module: The search page in Contacts has been updated to a table format, displaying up to 250 results simultaneously with sortable columns and visible contact information.

We hope these enhancements make your experience with GovSpend more efficient and productive. For any questions or additional information, please reach out to your relationship manager or contact GovSpend support at support@govspend.com. Stay tuned for more updates coming later in the year!
