We’re excited to announce the release of Opportunities, a new GovSpend module designed to help public-sector sellers cut through noise and focus on the government buying signals most relevant to their business.
Opportunities acts as a signal engine — continuously evaluating activity across GovSpend data, the public web, and each customer’s unique profile to surface and prioritize where to engage next.
For years, GovSpend has provided deep visibility into government bids, contracts, spending, meetings, and agencies. But turning that breadth of data into clear direction often required sellers to run multiple searches and manually determine what was worth pursuing.
Opportunities changes that.
From Data Overload to Prioritized Signals
GovSpend customers consistently told us that while the platform offered powerful intelligence, identifying the right accounts, agencies, or buying moments often felt fragmented. Capture teams had to sift through meetings, bids, contracts, and spending data — then decide for themselves which activity indicated real demand.
Opportunities was created to remove that burden.
By continuously monitoring activity across the platform and automatically prioritizing signals based on relevance, Opportunities brings the most meaningful buying activity into a single, focused view — without manual searching.
Instead of chasing information, teams start with a ranked list of where to engage first.
Personalized by Design
At the core of Opportunities is a company profile that defines what “relevant” means for each customer.
Opportunities uses this profile — including products and services, target agencies, regions, and competitors — as the foundation for prioritization. GovSpend pairs that context with live signals from across its data and the public web, such as:
- Open bids and upcoming solicitations
- Expiring contracts and incumbent activity
- Public meetings and planning discussions
- Spending patterns and vendor presence
- Agency initiatives, pilots, and personnel changes
The result is a continuously updated view of buying signals aligned to what each team actually sells — not a generic feed of activity.
Ranked, Explained, and Actionable
Every item surfaced in Opportunities is scored and ranked by relevance, so capture teams can quickly see which signals deserve attention.
Each record includes clear context explaining why it matters — whether it’s alignment with specific products, target agencies, geography, or competitive dynamics. Supporting records, attachments, and source links are available directly within the experience.
The intention is to help teams quickly understand where demand is forming and what next step makes sense — without jumping between tools. GovSpend leadership sees Opportunities as an important evolution in how public-sector sellers use market intelligence.
“Our goal is to help teams engage earlier and more intentionally,” said Bradley Scott, Chief Product Officer at GovSpend. “Opportunities brings together GovSpend’s depth of procurement data, signals from the public web, and is tailored to each customer’s unique profile to uncover real, actionable buying moments — not just surface more data.”
Built to Support Action
Opportunities goes beyond discovery to support real capture motion. GovSpend is expanding in-platform capabilities to help teams act on prioritized signals, including:
- Identifying relevant agency and vendor contacts
- Sharing signals across capture, sales, and marketing teams
- Pushing records into CRM systems
- Supporting outreach and follow-up workflows
By bringing signal detection, prioritization, and follow-through into one experience, Opportunities helps teams engage earlier and compete more effectively.
Looking Ahead
As agencies plan budgets, discuss initiatives, and evaluate vendors, Opportunities gives public-sector sellers a clearer way to stay ahead — focusing time and effort where it’s most likely to lead to revenue.
The Opportunities module is now available for customers.
